The X-IT portable, semi-rigid escape ladder. When the stairs are blocked, X-IT offers the safest, most effective way of evacuating you and your family from danger.
In the event of a fire, you need to act quickly. X-IT is both strong and lightweight and it's really easy to use. Just clamp it over the wall below the window sill and release the ladder by pulling the cord. X-IT is strong enough to securely hold three adults, so within seconds your whole family could be safe.
Most importantly, unlike rope or chain ladders, its semi-rigid design means you won't sway or swing through windows on your descent. You'll remain steady at all times.
To ensure you remain as safe as possible when using X-IT it incorporates these unique features:
STEADY DESCENT
Customers say they need to feel totally safe when using X-IT. Which is why it's been made semi-rigid, allowing you to remain steady all the way down. No sideways sway. No swinging into passing windows such as would occur on a rope or chain ladder.
SECURE HOLD
Most escape ladders hook onto the window FRAME inside the building. This can be a very small and unreliable anchor, which is why the X-IT range clamps onto the inside WALL below the window frame instead - a much stronger position. This gives you and your family the extra security you need.
FIRM FOOTING
To make your descent as safe and easy as possible, X-IT incorporates 'stand-offs' which hold the ladder away from the wall, allowing you to get a firm footing on the flat rungs. To ensure it locks rigid, the ladder should hang short of the ground. If it's too long, simply remove the necessary rungs.
USE ON A ROOF
X-IT will even work from dormer or Velux windows and over slanted roofs. All you need to do is adjust the rungs.
EASY STORAGE
When not in use, X-IT measures approximately 30cm x 50cm. Its compact size makes it easy to store under your bed or in a cupboard.
A size to suit your house
X-IT is available in four sizes to suit your accommodation:
3.1 metres (10ft) = typically a 2 storey small house;
4.6 metres (15ft) = typically a taller 2 storey house;
6.1 metres (20ft) = typically a 3 storey house;
7.6 metres (25ft) = maximum length for tall buildings.
MEASURING TIP - Measure the vertical drop from outside window sill to the ground with a plumb line or tape measure. X-IT Escape Ladders should hang clear of the ground by 1ft - 2ft to make them lock open. Rungs can be removed easily if ladder is too long.
The adjustable frame is 300mm (12" )wide and designed to hook over a wall thickness between 280mm - 510mm ( 11" - 20" ).
And you can take it with you when you move. If it's too long for your new house, all you need do is remove the extra rungs and it's ready to use. |
